The Cisalpin is the backpack for those who would rather keep both hands free than surrender any polish. Its name nods to the Alps, a fitting reference for a house whose entire history is bound up with travel, and it carries with the ease of a daily companion: slung over both shoulders on the walk to the office, or over one when stepping off a train in Geneva for the weekend.
Goyard traces its roots to 1792 and took the family name in 1853, when François Goyard assumed control of the Parisian trunk-making house where he had trained. His son Edmond introduced the now famous Goyardine pattern in 1892, and the maison has guarded its reputation for discretion ever since, preferring quiet recognition among those who know to loud branding. The Cisalpin brings that heritage into a modern, practical shape, suited to a client who values understatement and expects a bag to earn its place through use.
